When Elizabeth Bradshaw from the San Diego Surf Ladies reached out to us to take part in the Board Shorts Surf Film Festival, the first film festival to feature all women surfers, we couldn't have been more excited! We loved the idea of mixing art, film, and fun, surf related products for women, and it all came together perfectly in La Jolla last Saturday night!

"The idea to host this event came after the successful screening of Oceanides, a film by french filmmaker Lorene Carpentier (www.oceanides.org). The screening took place around the time when we were starting to plan our anniversary party. We thought the timing was perfect to kick things up a notch and add a public component to an event that always has great speakers (Kassia Meador, Linda Benson, Cori Schumacher etc). As a non-competitive female surf club we continue to recognize and be inspired by the growing population of sisters in the surf industry who are doing it for themselves! Winning world championships, shaping boards, making music and films. Plus we love any excuse to get together with the community and geek out on the sub–culture that inspires us!"

Seea suits on display with the new Seea Lady tank, hot off the press from  Forward Screen Printing

Our close friend Meredith Ambruso had some amazing needlepoint pieces on display. Love you Mer!

MARGAUX. from Shaper Studios on Vimeo. One of our favorite films of the evening!

By The Way from the talented Hayley Gordon on Vimeo. Another Seea favorite!

If you haven't seen Mele Saili surf, watch this! We love her mellow style and overall great vibe. With any luck, she'll be our next Seeababe - Look out for more from Mele this summer!

Thanks again to Elizabeth and all the SD Surf Ladies for creating this great event. As quick as the tickets sold out, we're sure it won't be the last!

Recently we were invited to set up shop at the Inspiration L.A show, a vintage-lovers paradise aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach. The show, organzied by style guru and author Rin Tanaka, brought together small label clothing and surfboard builders, artists, artisans, and top vintage resellers from all over the world. The show was an interesting mix of fashion-hungry tourists, designers, and rough looking bikers, all doing the same thing - Having fun while rummaging through piles of vintage treasures. Needless to say, we had a great time!

Amanda with our sweet new friend, Airi from NakiSurf
Friend and Seea lover, Meredith Ambruso, came away from the show with a new perspective.
Meredith crash tests Mr. Brian Bent's new 4 wheel bike.
Surfer/Artists Tyler Warren, Mason Dyer, and Harry Daily holding it down. At the end of the second day, some Japanese collectors came and bought out Tyler's whole booth. Crazy!
Gorgeous Native American blankets from the '30s
Get wild!

Seea suits in the new display. We busted out this whole setup the day before the show!

Pretty sweet little set up huh? We kept the tunes rolling all day, and the VW tent was a smash hit! We even brought some of the new summer suits out to play. Look for the Hermosa one piece (top right) and the special colorways of the the Doheny rashguard (bottom left, Surfindian exclusive), due out in March/April!
What an amazing, inspiring weekend!
