Congratulations to our friend Sarah Kobach Hughen for accomplishing her mission of surfing "A Wave a Day" for 365 straight days!! Sarah's efforts to benefit breast cancer awareness took her down a special course, and every time it was pouring rain out, or the coast was getting pounded with heavy swell, we would think of Sarah and send her love and positive thoughts, because no matter what - she was paddling out! Her journey, now at an end, has touched many lives. The celebration of those efforts will be tonight at Carruth Cellars in Solana Beach, so come on out!

Poster for tonight's final celebration & a lovely portrait of Sarah by Jay Reilly
Sarah, sliding right on one of her 365 sessions spanning a Summer, Fall, Winter & Spring.
"By surfing every day, I hope to honor all those who have been affected by Breast Cancer and that my determination will inspire people to become involved."

"It's my daily baptism of sorts, a chance to cleanse myself every time I go and start fresh. I can’t hear the traffic, or see the crowds. Just me, surrounded by water."

"1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer sometime during their life. This is unacceptable to me," Sarah adds. "My hope is that through research, awareness, and an active lifestyle we can help make this statistic history."

PREVENTION IS THE CURE! For more info visit the Keep a Breast foundation.

Sarah sliced her foot with the fin, but guess what? she went surfing the next day.

"When I loose my motivation, all I have to do is to look at my litle guys, and remember that the future is in their hands"

Sarah is an amazing, beautiful person, and a wonderful mom. We are happy to have met her and her husband, who are also raising two rad little California groms! Next time you find yourself thinking surf, but you're just too busy to get out there, think about Sarah, and go get your "Wave A Day"!!
